Dr. Scott Bovard, DVM

I received my DVM degree from Iowa State University in 1985. I practiced Standardbred racetrack medicine and then general equine medicine and surgery in Philadelphia until 1990. I then moved to Missouri and was co-founder of Mid-Rivers Equine Centre near St. Louis. In 1997 we moved our young family to Missoula, Montana and I transitioned to small animal practice. I currently enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine, especially orthopedic surgery and ACL repairs.

I have a lovely wife of over 38 years, two amazing children, a daughter-in-law , a future son-in-law and 3 granddaughters. My son is a graduate of the USMA in West Point, NY and is a captain in the US Army. My daughter is a graduate of Boise State University and currently the Event Director for the Idaho Botanical Gardens in Boise, ID. I love hiking with my dog Yankee, fishing, hunting, packing, cross country skiing, rafting, biking and the guitar. I feel very fortunate to live in Missoula and I love working with the amazing and dedicated staff we have here at Missoula Veterinary Clinic.
